Is it normal to apologize to my students?

I feel terribly regret after I've misunderstood my dear students. I scolded them because they were late in my class. I just found that it was not their fault. they had a reason for being late. I was reckless that I've scolded them before I asked them why.

They are afraid of me now (I think). they turned back of me when I'm around them. I feel sad. I'm going to apologize that I've made them afraid of me. is it apropriate for me to do so?

Is It Normal?

  • Ah it might have been easier to have apologised there and then. What was the reason for being late?

  • Omg you don't have to write proper all the time my english teacher and I are friends on fb amd she's like 50 and she uses stuff plus she might be in a hurry cut her some slack.

Anyway.... I think you should just apologize and go on w it my teachers do that all the time no big deal. No offence but by the end of the year they usually hate you anyway so what's the big deal. I know most of my friends hate 99% of our teacher I only can't stand one of them. But Don't think your the only teacher who jumps on their students my teachers do it daily for unknown reasons honestly like gettin up to get a eraser.!?!? Wth! Good luck
