Is it normal to always try to find mistakes on myself?

I tend to always try and find mistakes on myself, my mind keeps telling me negative things. Like on my tattoos I try to find stupid details that are not 100% perfect and if I find like a tiny spot I can go mad and think about it for a long time.

I think the reason why I'm like this lately is because I've been bored mentally. No job, no school etc. Is this normal when your mind is not stimulated?

Also I think it's because I've been single for over a year now, maybe love would help as well so that I could become more positive?

Anyway thank you if you took your time to read all this.

  • I think we all do that from time to time. My brain always tells me I have a massive chin, but I really don't. It's weird as hell. I think what matters is that though when you look at yourself you see every last damn mistake, often other people will look at you and pick out the good things. --think of it like a painting that you've painted, you'll notice all of the wobbly lines but others will see a masterpiece. It's human nature or something.

  • I remember one time hearing that nothing natural is ever perfect - not even a blade of grass, or a leaf.

If you want to go looking for faults, check out your lawn and give yourself a break :o)

  • Relationships do keep you preoccupied, but it isn't always worth the trouble. Also when you are busy you have less time to pick out characteristics you don't like about yourself.
