I was the only child not allowed to watch many movies like that in my circle of friends, and to this day there are a lot of things I havent seen and feel I missed out on seeing. Really it partly depends on the child and their capacity, I know plenty of people far older who refuse to watch movies like that. However I dont think Id even rank The Grudge very high up on the scary list.... The american adaptation is rather comical, and that was one of the first scary movies I saw. XD
