Is it normal to agree with the simple clothing of religion?

I don't agree with anything else in Methodism or religion except for my cult, but I agree with the clothing (and Christianity's a religion and worship). Here's all my dress comprises: grave, and cheap, not expensive, and far cheaper than everyone else would wear in my circumstances, and than I would wear if I (God forbid!) knew not God, and no ruffles, high headdresses, extravagant laces, silk, fine linen, gold, velvet, pearls, precious stones, curling of the hair, expensive perukes, superfluities, mere ornament, glittering or costly buckles or buttons, not anything glistening, glaring colors, colored waistcoats (but I choose to wear colored vests if not colored waistcoats), nothing showy, nothing gay, nothing airy, no shining stockings, and no costly apparel in general, is dressing this way normal? By the way I wear plain dull-colored or dull-brown clothes, have bought a few such clothes on the internet, and a dull-colored vest and a gray double-breasted waistcoat and black waistcoat on the internet, and am wearing a brown cape, dull blue jumper, dull tracksuit pants and a gray hat. Would this be normal?

You’re in a cult? I mean you do you but the clothes aren’t a problem

Ok but what if I have naturally curly hair tho?

And no this is just extreme and silly. Also if the goal is not to draw attention to yourself or "objectify" yourself, you can go way too far in the opposite logical extreme, and still do that by trying too hard not to.

I think Islam is more extreme for that though. Let's "not draw attention to our looks and bodies" by wearing a grim reaper costume walking down the street. Yeah that'll work, not conspicuous at all.

I do get the argument for living minimally and modestly for other reasons, like being good to the environment and not consuming irresponsibly. However if you have to really exude "modesty" in such a show-y way, that's an oxymoron, it actually becomes quite immodest and a self-righteous humble-brag.

I see nothing wrong with it Hansberger. If anything, we need more ordinary in this world. I think it's kinda cool.
