Apparently he is a dick to work with, but he is an A lister which makes him a valuable actor and draws audiences into his movies to if a director wants a shot at making a good movie and pulling in maximum audience with a character that Depp can play, they have to work with this asshole.
He is also very anti-American (which I can understand but he is of the "enlightened" sort, that annoys me. Lacking patriotism, in my head, isn't the same as enlightened) and as a socialite, seems to be one of those pseudo-intellectual hipster types. All around, everything that I have seen or read about him indicates that he feels like he is the hot shit when in reality he's just some asshole that's really good at playing an on-screen role.
Call me judgemental but whenever I see him, my douche radar goes off.
