I dont want to be a downer, but I would say your friend knows she can rely on you for comfort..and she loves you probably as more of a friend at the moment and seeks a relationship with your guy friend. Hes unattainable and to her unpredictable given his track record. You may have to be super patient waiting for her to come to her senses. Or just act on your feelings.
