But you're right, what you claim about science is true as well. I'm just saying one does not invalidate the other, the word is used for a different meaning.
It can rly be annoying especially with someone you know, and if it feels politically motivated. There is a difference between people who have or wish to have surgeries and take hormones and people like your friend. But it really is their choice.
