Lesbian doesn't sound great. If only this tendency had arisen on another of Greece's islands than Lesbos. Although not Crete (that would make them sound like Cretins). And not Euboea (sounds like Ebonics). And not Lemnos (sounds like Annie Lemnos, a famous Lesbosian).
As for fag, it sounds insulting because it's meant to be. That's the only purpose of it. To demean and traduce people of a sexuality people are so petrified of themselves being that they demean and traduce people who are brave enough to admit it.
Although I guess you could call them Sapphotic? But that sounds kinda weird. Sapphoian? Oh "sapphic" I guess is the term.
Then again Sappho herself is somewhat why the word "Lesbian" means homosexual female. Although according to the wiki it sounds like she was actually a pansexual rather than a homosexual.

Yes that is why I am saying. I do not mind if chicks or guys are gay but I hate that word itself.
