A lot of British people have that kind of accent but we haven't got one up on the site yet so you'd be doing me a favour if you recorded yourself. Plus a lot of people would be curious because you're such a fixture here.
One more potential upside - whenever I read dom180's, bananaface's, or Yumazing's posts now, I hear them in their own accent and in some weird way, I think it'd be impossible for me to misunderstand anything they write. That's just come from the voice thing.
As long as it isn't a British accent mixed with a New York accent you should be fine.
Sorry New York :P
I grew up in Minnesota so I'm well aware of the 'accent stigma'.
Is it normal the voices are different to how I imagined?

My accent is pretty terrible in my opinion.

A mix between American and British is often called transatlantic or midatlantic, which is brilliant in my opinion (:

To me, the Minnesotan accent sounds like a mixture between the Alaskan and the Canadian accents.

I forgot about the Alaskan accent, that's very true!
Hmm. That's interesting, I guess it might just be the part of England you are in.
People can tell a difference between my accent and other people in the northern part of the U.S.
We've even had it where someone knew that my parents were from northern Ohio when they were in some other country I believe or state.
