I'm no expert, but heady/cerebral high means what you think; it's those trippy, psychedelic effects that you don't like. It affects your mind, perceptions, thinking, as opposed to a "body" high that doesn't affect your mind so much, but will make you relaxed and sleepy etc.
And yes, as far as I know Sativas are known for a trippy, cerebral high.
So it sounds like you know what you want, and it's just a matter of seeking out a lower THC, higher CBD content, (probably more Indica?) variety.
The only other thing to add is that if you're smoking daily, those unwanted effects should pretty much disappear as your tolerance goes up, anyway. Even if you can only get super potent, high THC stuff - if you smoke enough of it, it can only really affect you so much; those unwanted effects will plateau and subside. It'll be just like an "on/off" switch, either relaxed from just having smoked, or not. But you won't really be able to get super-mega high, anyway.
Just my thoughts.
Thank you for the comment . Reading back on my post today , what a mess . I wonder what happens when YOU experience a head high ? What happens to your perception! I suppose i need more indica but i am getting all sativa hybrids tomorrow :( how long do you think it will take for my tolerance to increase and the psychedelic effects to subside . I just want a chill , mellow buzz like this last strain i was smoking on .
What a mess? lol - not at all! It's hard to describe the effects, isn't it? Because their so psychedelic and weird, and also it's a subjective thing. But it sounds like you have a pretty good idea of the ins and outs of it, and what it is you want and don't want.
I always like hearing from people who don't have 100% positive experiences from weed; who it's not always just a chill, relaxing thing for (not that I'm glad they experience that!), but because I'm like that myself sometimes, when tolerance is low and in an unfamiliar environment especially. So it's just nice to know you're not alone!
Like Freedom_ said, it doesn't take long for your tolerance to dissipate. And the reverse is also true, it doesn't take long for it to build up either. It really is a matter of days. You may even smoke in the morning, feel some negative effects, but if you smoke again in the evening, those effects are gone.
If I smoked now, with no tolerance, I might get things like paranoia. In conversation, I might get the impression people are secretly talking about me, or mocking me. And that everything they say has an intended double meaning. It's silly, and I can ignore it to a point.
But when I used to smoke full-time, those negative effects completely disappeared. And if I started again, they'd go away after 2-3 days max. So really, no matter what you're smoking, I think you can expect a purely relaxing high and nothing more, after just a few days.
I don't know if that's great advice or not; I'm basically saying smoke smoke smoke until it goes away, but it's true.
The other thing you notice when you Stop, is that your dreams come back...which is kinda nice, but strange.
Anyway, good luck with everything. And don't let the strange effects get to you. Try and ignore them and remember you're still yourself, just high, that's all.
Apologies for the Book!..lol
Is it normal THC in today's weed too potent / unwanted effects
