We're really talking about societal pressures here and you can also turn this around and ask why women are underrepresented in STEM fields. Or imagine you're in a hospital and two people walk in to help you, one male and one female. Which one is the doctor and which one is the nurse? Society makes many things out to be male jobs.
Yes but I also think it has to do with the nature of each sex. Men are more competitive than women, generally. They will pursue higher success more diligently than a woman will, usually.
I think if a woman wants to be a doctor, there's nothing really stopping her. Women seem underrepresented in STEM fields because they choose other fields to go into. Gradually this trend may change.
Is it normal that women aren't embracing and using their female privilege?
