I think this is normal. Ignoring him will probably let your feelings for him slowly quell. However, I would like to point out that rejection is something that a lot of people fear, but if you don't ever tell the person how you feel, then you'll never know what could've been. I think it's normal to avoid liking people because rejection sucks, but I feel like sometimes you should be brave enough to overcome you fear. But ignoring him is totally normal and understandable.
