Is it normal that we talk every day?

I've know my guy friend for a little over a year but we rarely talked until recently (just a "hi" here and there). Now, we communicate with each other in some form or fashion everyday. Be it texting or a facebook message (we've accumulated several hundred short messages since Tuesday if that means anything).

Is this normal to start talking to someone everyday that you hardly know? I only had one other guy friend do this, and 2 years after he told me he liked me. This could be the case or it might not, i just wanted a few opinions.

    Maybe he wants to get to know you. If you barely talk, then it's no wonder he wants to get to know you. It's possible that he likes you, but it's also possible that he just wants to be your friend.
