Men and women are different. Because they are different, there's no such thing as a true equality. What we strive for instead is what both sides consider fair.
We could be entirely anal about it and seek redress for the times men are discriminated against (men receive no acceptance at being less able to do the things that women are naturally better at). We could be anal about it and come up with a huge document of checks and measures, but really, who wants to live like that?
If we use our common sense and respect both our own gender and the other gender, that's 90% of the problem solved.
