Is it normal that this is my way of thinking?

so everyone fears death. someone will give someone there belongings just not to be shot. Other people fear the end of the world.life itself is beautiful and of course i would n`t want it to end, but if anything did happen, would it be weird if I didn`t mind? i guess i`m just saying is it normal i don`t fear death ?

  • I have a lot of fears and regrets in life, but I'm not really scared of the thought of death because were all just gonna die one day so what is the big deal? I mean like really its okay cause you won't have any fears or regrets after you die, because you will be dead. And the best part about it is that you won't have to put up with all the stress in life.

  • I actually get more scared of the idea of getting older than the idea of death.

  • If you fear, just to treasure every precious moment that you have owned and live better.

  • I feel the same way I embrace it. I actually want to get two tattoos about death.

  • Did you mind about dying before you were born? If no then no biggie as thats where your going back to.

  • You've come to terms with the inevitable. Good for you.

But aren't you scared about how you might die what if you die a slow and horrible death.

I don't wish for this to happen i was just sayin is all.

    • Been there, done that, quite a few times.
Being unafraid of death is not the same thing as not wanting to die, if one can help it.
I bet almost every one of you on IIN gets in a motor vehicle twice each day, at least, and that's something like 10,000 times more dangerous (statistically) than my girlfriend and I crossing oceans on a 50' sailboat.
When the fear of death overpowers the enjoyment of life then what is there to live for?

  • i think if you have done all the things you wanted to do in life and have no regrets then maybe the idea of death would not have as much of an impact... but personally i still find grusome ways of dying to be scary also i heard that fear is a natural survival instinct like we are hard wired to want to survive or something

  • Since one only gets one shot at life it should be lived to the fullest.
I think the saddest thing would be to be sitting in your rocking chair, near death, and regret all the things one didn't do.
Not being afraid of dying is very liberating (one of the perks of old age if you've lived your life to the fullest), and allows one the freedom to have adventures, do and see things others will never experience.

  • Probably not normal but I like it.
I think the reasons I'm afraid of dying are because I don't feel like I had a fulfilled life yet, and because my loved ones would be very sad. But I was never really that afraid of death itself.
