Is it normal that these happen?

Sometimes I get these weird feeling in a lot of places in my body. It mostly happens in my right arm. I get a weird feeling like a bunch of energy, and the only way to get rid of it is to exert a lot of energy, sometimes enough to cause that area to become painful. If I get the feeling in my fingers, I have to tense and contract my fingers, sometimes until the joints crack or it hurts a lot.

These feelings occur a lot more when I am relaxed, especially when I'm on the computer or trying to sleep (It's happened a lot as I write this!)

Sometimes these things are very irritating. Sometimes I'll be eating, writing, or typing something, get this feeling and have to stop what I'm doing in order to get rid of the feeling.

When I try and stop myself from doing these actions, I start to get uncomfortable and sometimes get restless. The longer I hold these in, the harder it is to get rid of them.

You should see a doctor about this.

This sounds like a somatoform pain disorder. It's a psychological disorder where you will feel real pain in your body that there is no medical explanation for. Stress and/or traumatic events are common causes of this disorder. I would see a doctor first, if he/she cannot explain to you why these pains occur, see a psychologist.

  • Ignore it. It's just post-op jitters. It'll go away after a while.
