Is it normal that the skin in my buttcrack is orange?

I have very dark skin and for as long as I can remember, the skin around my anus and in my buttcrack is lighter and orange in tone. I wash down there all the time but I don’t know if its just the color of my skin and it’s normal, or if it is something else. I haven’t been able to find any article or reference about this, this is my last resort before going to a doctor. I’m incredibly insecure about it and just want answers.

It's common for the area around the genitals to be a few shades darker than the rest of the skin. This is most noticeable in light-skinned people, but it's seen in dark-skinned people too. I don't understand the details of why this is, but it's something to do with hormones affecting melanin production in the skin there. Since the degree of darkening differs between people, genetics has to play a role in this.

If there's nothing unusual about the texture of the skin between your buttocks and you're not experiencing tenderness, itching, burning or any other symptoms, then I'd assume that the colour of the skin there is simply due to your genes.

If this really bothers you, then you'd be wise to see a dermatologist to seek reassurance.

Thank you so much for your comment! Sometimes that area can be sensitive but only if it is agitated by excessive touching, scrubbing, etc... so I assume that because that area is sensitive that is normal. Again, thank you very much for the information, it really helps ❤️

Dark skinned people have white soles and light coloured palms. It the same with skin colour in the butt crack. It's an evolutionary thing where skin exposed to the sun is darker and lighter in areas where it's not. Totally normal.

If you are not having problem like burning and itching etc...it's not that serous but if you feel unconfortable or something see a doctor to learn more about it!

How do you know what color the skin around your asshole is? Do you take butt selfies every time you check, or have someone look (and then take a picture?) Or is your body just extremely agile and flexible? Curious minds want to know.

There's also a Trump joke in this somewhere but I can't find it.
