  • Grades aren't the be all and end all of everything. Many successful people in the world did poorly in school. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try. It means you should put effort into your work, but have some common sense and learn to categorize important stuff from things that are not important. Life doesn't end for you if you get bad grades. If you're on your death bed, do you really want to reflect on your life and regret spending your childhood/teenagehood studying for tests instead of gaining life experiences? Besides, my teacher has even admitted to me that she even agrees the marks on your report card don't matter. It's the experiences that you gain and the level of responsibility, organization, independence and initiative in your life. A person who has really good grades could be a rude person to other people, but someone who has poor grades but cares about other people and is responsible and organizes is clearly better. Many employers take into consideration those things much more than your GPA or the marks you got in math and science.
