Is it normal, that the new update on here scared me?

I just went on a post and I saw the user BlueAlice didn't have any numbers by her name. I panicked and thought that she deleted. Then, I saw that the other users stopped having their numbers too. This really freaked me out, because I associate no numbers with deleted accounts.

I liked being able to see my number on my comments. It makes me wonder why the management up dated it like this. Did anyone else freak out at this?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

    Yeah, sorry, I had a feeling it might scare some people for a bit, but I decided it just looked much cleaner this way. There isn't really a need for the number on every single comment. You can visit the profile page if you want to see the number.

      HEY, YOU! Give me my number back RIGHT NOW! I feel so naked, it's like you took my status and credibility away!

      At least update the users who are no longer active to have a line through their name or something. It did give me a scare there at first when I saw a few users without numbers on their names XD

      A warning next time might be nice too.

      Seriously though, I'll live and I'm still looking forward to the future updates :)

      But the numbers are the easier way to see if a user is no longer active or not. That is the main thing I care about as far as numbers are concerned; it is nice to be able to see at a glance if there are members who are no longer.

      Actually, I feel like the numbers helped to set our community apart from other "forums". There was a more inviting feel about having them there. It helped to identify us as more than just "names".

      It's just so much easier to know who's on here and who's not. Perhaps you could consider to bring them back? Yes, there's something "cleaner" about it, but there's also something "cold" and "empty" about the change.

    I really like that the numbers were taken away. It takes away the judgement that comes with them as some people look at it to see how long a member was here to judge them. It makes everyone equal and I like that :). Also looks a lot better too.

    Good move management!

    I much prefered the numbers at the side. I don't know, I'm still a bit iffy about the new layout, it might well be the reason I'm not being as active as I usually am on here.

    I thought there would be more options added on to the site, not just a different layout. Not trying to be an asshole, but I think the previous layout was much more simple and easier to use.

    I thought there would be added on features, not changed features.

        I agree. I for some reason feel as if something has been stripped from me and that something is missing in my whole username or appearance on this site due to the number being gone. I don't know why, just a feeling.

      To be honest, I do feel a bit overwhelmed now when new posts come in. I think maybe I liked the old layout a little better too now that I have spent a little time with the new one.

      I don't know why hers was the first I noticed... Maybe, because of the colour, but there were other users with blue so, I don't know why...
