Is it normal that the heating bill for my swimming pool is so high?

I make half a million a year so it's not a major problem but it still bothers me that it costs about $7000 a month to heat. The pool is about 150' x 130'.

  • That's $233 per day and a shitload of energy. Heard of solar pool heating? You can afford it on $500k a year.

  • Why are you heating your pool in the summer?

  • I had a swimming pool long ago when I lived in Australia. Solar covers are usually the most cost efficient way to keep the water warm. But I learned that pools are 90% maintenance and 10% fun. I only used it for parties, and nude swimming by myself with the lights off before I went to bed. It was a nice place to look at the stars.

  • Oh my word. Stop heating your pool and use it when the right weather is on, like average folk.
