It's normal to dislike things you don't understand. However, It is not appropriate to be intolerant of those things. To answer your question yes it is "normal" to be annoyed or disgusted by tattoos, no it is not normal to be intollerant of tattoos. You can choose to make a lifestyle decision or expression of yourself but you can't make those decisions for others. Agree to disagree, that's my opinion.
What's to understand? And not liking or being turned off of them is not intolerant. As you say - agree to disagree. But if you have tats you surely can't expect everyone to set aside their aversion. And it doesn't mean they don't like you.
