Is it normal that tattoos annoy me?!

I've yet to see one I like. My take is that they range from tacky to creepy. But to each their own - some love em - and you too are quite entitled to feel as you do.

Beyond aesthetics - which to me they lack - is the permanency, change with age/body changes, and, if you have to work with the public as a professional. But that's not the end of the world.

It's normal to dislike things you don't understand. However, It is not appropriate to be intolerant of those things. To answer your question yes it is "normal" to be annoyed or disgusted by tattoos, no it is not normal to be intollerant of tattoos. You can choose to make a lifestyle decision or expression of yourself but you can't make those decisions for others. Agree to disagree, that's my opinion.

It looks dirty and creepy.

I have one on my penis. Actually, it's not a tattoo but a transfer. I often mention this to women I meet in pubs, but none have ever felt tempted to have a look. Not that I tell them it IS a transfer. As for tattoos in general, clearly people just aren't satisfied with what Nature provided them with which means they feel inadequate. They probably are.

It annoys me too, yet I have them. I get them for different reasons but never really talk about them as I see it as private. It's weird when people have to think so hard about their next big tattoo. It's like, just stfu already and do it.

Wow. Everyone who claims to be against them sounds exactly like my Puritan of a father. I let my dad say what he wants but truthfully, no one respects him or cares what he has to say because he lectures his points of view. I'd rather be leas respected for having a tattoo than be someone who everyone laughs at internally.

But it seems as though no one gives a second thought to what they are doing to their body. Your body has rights on you to protect it. Not degrade it. The human body is too perfect to be messed with. Maybe if they were less common, I'd probably appreciate them more.

I agree with you totally. And I do judge others, I just tend to shy away from them when I see what they have done to their body. I will never say anything. I have yet to hear a valid argument of why they are necessary too...other than "'cause i think they are pretty and art"

I don't have any tattoos and probably never will, but I can certainly admire them on other people. If you don't like the idea of getting a tattoo, don't get one. You don't need to judge other people for doing something that you don't like.

Who cares what other's do. Respect your own body first and let others do whatever they want to as long as they are not hurting or disturbing anyone else.

MOst people just want attention and to be accepted and loved anyway.

I understand, I will never get a tattoo because I'm fickle. I like piercings because they aren't so permanent.

I personally have many & love them. Its a difference in opinion. You dont have to like them. I like them because I think theyre beautiful..(like art on your body) & Im an artist myself.
