Is it normal that surrogates sicken me?

When ever I hear a women on the news talking about giving a infertile couple or gay couple the 'gift' of a baby I want to punch them in mouth. It's that what babies are to people? Gifts?

I don't get why everyone is going about about how it's a 'miracle', Sure it's great for childless couples but hows that poor baby going to feel being taking away from woman it shared nine months? maybe i'm out of touch but it seems little better than selling a child to me. Is it normal to feel this way?

Sometimes, a surrogate mother has an embryo which is not genetically hers, implanted into her uterus, so the resulting baby is not really a gift. The baby is given back to its rightful owners!

Not sure what happened to the rest of my comment...but it said...in fact, there have been numerous wars started because if beliefs like yours. So yeah...sure you're right to an extent. If everyone believed the same exact thing, we would have peace. But who wants peace if it's born out of ignorance and intolerance....cutting out whole groups of individuals because we "believe" they are living wrong. That's no kind of peace that I'd want. In fact, if history is any indicator, I'd say that's the kind of peace Hitler subscribed to.

Perhaps if people like you changed your mindset to allow people to live as they'd like it would be a better kind of peace all around.

Valkeer, how exactly am I trolling you? You are making ignorant and outrageous statements and you think I'M the troll? I find it difficult to believe that you were not making such statements to get a reaction. How can someone possibly believe the things about gay people that you're spouting. If you want to try and spread the garbage that you're saying, trying to convince people that your opinion is more valid than scientific evidence and then follow that nonsense up with 'you are beatrn' you deserve to be called ignorant and ridiculous.

I had two kids. I loved being pregnant. No issues for me. I considered being a rent-a-womb. I myself didn't want more kids to raise, but wanted to be there for women who couldn't carry their own babies. Never did. Wish I had. Nothing wrong with it.

I'm not sickened by surrogates, but I am highly anti-surrogate. I'm also highly anti-IVF. Infertility is nature's way of telling you "Stop, just stop and let the population die down a bit!" So I am greatly against any sort of procedure that "plays God" and creates more people to use up more of our already-strained resources.

Oh, and please don't use quotation marks if you're not actually quoting me. What I said is that we will not live in peace if we all believed the same bigoted and ignorant crap that you believe. Therefore, history does not prove me wrong. In fac

It's not swallowing the belief of western culture, it's having my own belief that people should love each other and not force their own ignorant beliefs on others. Which, by the way, your unbelievably long and boring speech about the romans is trying to do.

People will not live in peace if everyone just accepts bigoted and ignorant beliefs like yours....that gay people should not raise children because they'll pass on their "ideas". That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. And as I said, it is ideas like these that start real wars. People fight for freedom and ideas about suppressing gay rights only adds fuel to that fire.

I sincerely hope that you never have children because I would be far more afraid of the ideas you would pass on to a new generation than what the gay people would pass on.

And I am very glad to hear that you're done arguing but I doubt you'll be able to commit to that.

I guess I don't see where I ever said I agreed with Valkeer. But rather, I was simply stating that he gave his opinion well. I have much more respect for someone who can state their side well and give intelligence to a conversation; rather than someone who resorts to baseless name calling and child-like banter. I think I stated my opinion a few comments back. I could very well go into pages of commenting my thoughts on this subject, but I feel it best not to. Sometimes less is more.

Valkeer; very interesting perspective and reference to historical wars. You stated your side well.

I completely agree with you I think it's very unnatural and twisted. It's shouldn't be permitted.

I think you need to step back and look at the big picture here. Lockets is right. I would suggest you read or speak to some people who have had person experiences with surrogates, you will see it has its place.

  • This thread in a nutshell:

vanillaberry -Michael Jackson voice-: That's ignorance. No...no that's ignorance.

Valkeer: Beliefs are the reason for our wars. The only way to stop the wars is if we all believe the same.

vanillaberry-Michael Jackson voice-: No...no that's ignorance. That's just bigotted intolerance

Valkeer: But every idea is intolerant of something. Your idea of complete tolerance is intolerant of my belief. Don't you see how you're wrong?

vanillaberry-Michael Jackson voice-: No. No, that's just ignorance. Ignorance.

    Valkeer: k. -_-

Addressing hippychick now: No, I'm not a coward. I've said much worse to groups of people who didn't believe as I do and their reaction wasn't nearly as visceral.

  • The forums ate my replies to you vanillaberry. Anyway. I'm done arguing with people who swallowed the beliefs of western culture without ever wondering if it was ever really right to begin with.

infertile couple would be reasonable enough for me, but gay couple? which law of nature they couldn't understand... even an egg's need male & female to have one... we're talking about baby here...

Right. That's what you meant about gay people. If it was only about politics and junk, what does being gay have to do with it?

I don't know why I even picked up this argument. You can't argue with someone who lies and changes his story to suit the situation. I'm taking a queue from vanilla and walking away. Go ahead and get your last word in. I know you're the type that won't be able to resist feeling superior.

Yeah I'm done. If you're going to delete and change comments to look better, you're clearly not worth arguing with.

Believe what you want to believe, but don't spread your ignorance to the good people out there who believe that people deserve to be happy...regardless of sexual orientation.

(and just for the record, you'll see that I actually mean it when I say I'm done.)

Bwahaha. That's hilarious. You were so long winded that you needed two comments and then you say mine was too long. Wow. I can't stop laughing at your stupidity.

And yeah...stated well. But it's still bigoted, ignorant and intolerant. Not to be condoned.

    Too boring; didn't read.

And whatever helps you sleep at night. As I said, keep defending yourself. If it makes you feel better about yourself. But you'll never win this one. You're just an ignorant person defending your ignorance. And you look stupid doing it. Have fun. :)

Valkeer, you're ridiculous. It's intolerance that starts those wars. It's not just because there are different opinions.

Try to defend your stupidity all you want, but people like you are what is wrong with the world.

Um yeah. That's not at all how the conversation went. And again...I did see your comments before you deleted them. Vanillaberry is calling you ignorant because of your comments about gay people passing on their "beliefs" to the children. As if they can catch "the gay" by living with gay parents. And that is most definitely ignorant. You also went on to try and convince people that we should all be forced to follow one frame of thought to achieve peace. That is where vanilla said you sounded a lot like Hitler and where you deleted that comment so others could not see it.

Skew the conversation all you want...but I'm with vanilla. I also kind of wish he/she would come back an comment on your entirely false summation on the conversation.

Wait...I saw your previous argument and now it's gone. Was it that vanillaberry hit too close to the truth so you deleted it so people couldn't see what they were referring to? That's just cowardly.

You know, I've been following this thread but not saying anything. Now I'm gonna go ahead and say that vanillaberry is absolutely correct. I didn't see it right from the beginning, but he/she apparently did and good for him/her for calling you out. Your way of thinking is very scary.

Mercedes, I used to really respect your comments, but I'm disappointed that you'd back an opinion such as valkeer's. I'm not saying that I respect vanillaberry's attacks, but to give someone props for being intolerant is pretty low.
