Is it normal that sports makes me want to kill myself?

  • "I went through 9 months of vomiting and discomfort, and then 18 hours of hellish labour to give birth to you. Then I slaved day and night for years changing nappies, getting up to feed you every 4 hours, and sitting beside you when you were sick. And your poor father, he has worked his fingers to the bone year in and year out in his shitty job just to give you a decent start in life. The absolute least you could do is try a little harder to get that sports scholarship so we don't have to mortgage the house to get you a degree!"

Not all forcing is at gunpoint...

    • I’m in basically the same situation except with baseball. I purposely injured my arm to get a bit of a break, but I have to start back very soon. Every time I’m reminded of the game I start wanting to kill myself again. I mentioned it to my parents recently and they basically just didn’t care. The worst part is when it starts it never stops I gets constant letters from teams and collages asking me to play, therefore I always have to play no matter if my team is playing or not. I realize this is an old forum and you may never see this but if you do I have a question. How did it all turn out for you?
