Even by making terrible things happen to yourself you wouldn't be able to feel what each single person who ever went through that experienced and felt since we are not all equal,on the psychological and social level at least. So you might even live it in a not so bad way,you could be able to put up with it relatively easily, but on someone else,it's quite more devastating.Or it can be the other way around.
So you'd be only able to really relate and really know what other people who share most of their social, environmental and psychological settings with you.In other words your kin. We all live different situations in different ways, what we get out of it,out of the whole experience,is never the same thing. The same food tastes slightly differently for different people with different tastes.Subjectively.
As it is for pain, you might have an higher resistance to it or not.
Oh,if you lack empathy for people who went through something in particular, going through that yourself doesn't necessarily raise it.The contrary might as well happen.Or it could stay almost unchanged.
You aren't "insane" you are just a hypocrite.
You know all too well that you would never purposely get yourself in anything like that, but the thought, thinking you could do that, makes your conscience feel cleaner. So you can think you are a "better person" because you have "self sacrificial thoughts".Next thing that is probably gonna happen is:You becoming suicidal over failing somebody.
Is it normal that sometimes I wish I could experience terrible things?
