Is it normal that some people makes me jealous and competitive?

Once I met a girl and we became friends and then we kind of entered a new group together. We splitted as each of us found new firends but I couldn't get over her. Every time she happened to be around me, I would chek on her, if she is having better time than me, if people like her more etc. I was obsessed with her being better than me. Also I started to feel that she dislikes me and I couldn't talk to her normally but she has never done anything to prove I was right.
I am girl and adult, usually I don't really care about people's opinions, so I wonder is it normal to react this way to someone?

    Well you are a girl, but I'm not so sure about you being an adult. In any case, girls being jealous/competitive with other girls is very normal. They have a dominance hierarchy the same as guys do, though girls can be far crueler.

    Yes, I know. I haven't been acting this way since school. Usually I don't get that obsession and I am not very competitive. It bothers me because I could not help it. So either i am immature or it may happen sometimes, i don't know if it is normal.
