It's a valid point, yes. Maybe some one had a morbid experience with guns in the past, just never liked them, whatever it may be. But to go so far as to say people who like guns is borderline homicidal, that's a bit out of line I think. A hobby/sport does not always have to come with a label, just because some one else thinks otherwise or doesn't know anything about it so they assume it's for maniacs. It's a very well regulated sport, and teaches discipline and safety around "guns" if you can even call them that. Also, NRA doesn't recognize them as a firearm, by technicality and by purpose. For example: a fencer doesn't automatically go crazy and start stabbing people with a sword, as a boxer doesn't go around beating every single person he can lay a hand on. For they learn control through the sport or hobby.
