I can relate... My local brands are 'Peter Pan,' and 'JIF.'
I bought some offbrand 'Best Choice' peanut butter once because I was a little short on cash. It tasted so horrible I couldn't finish it. So dry and flavorless... Very pasty, and really difficult to eat. I can imagine that I would eat it pretty easily if I was starving or something, but the idea that I would have to even think of it in that aspect should attest to it's lack of flavor.
I can't bring myself to waste food, so it's still in my cabinet... :(
IIN that skippy pb is nasty?

Correction, the off-brand wasn't 'Best Choice,' it was 'Always Save.'
That stuff is awful...
