But many people get attacked by a purring cat because they fail to check for body language from the cat telling them they don't want to be touched anymore. If you see your cats tail twitching, it's a sign of annoyance. Also, your cat could have some kind of tumor or some other reason to feel pain in that area and could be lashing out for that reason. Take him to a vet for a check up to rule out any possible health problema
