Is it normal that people yell at me without a reason?

For example this morning I were singing really quiet, and suddenly my sister yelled at me 'SHUT UP'. I looked at her and asked 'normally' why she's so angry, and she told me even angrier that she is trying to learn geography. I accepted her statement, although I were singing really quiet, then I asked her why she told it this way, instead of 'can you shut up please, bla bla' or something, and she yelled at me even harder that this is totally normal for our relationship (bro and sis) and I must be crazy if I think she should be pleasing me or talking to me with respect. Is it really normal?

    Were you misconjegating while singing as well? Just kidding... but seriously, it's hard to judge something like singing without actually being there to hear it. Regardless I suspect she may have been rather harsh, but good on her for studying.
