  • All too many muslims turn a blind eye to the actions of the terrorists as they prepare to act. There is a docudrama of an incident in Iraq where a couple dozen citizens watched the terrorists plant an IED but told no one and did nothing.
When the terrorists finally detonated it, killing and injuring American soldiers, they indiscriminately retaliated killing many in the surrounding houses. Not one of those killed were actually terrorists, but it was kind of poetic justice, because most of those killed knew the bomb was there and did absolutely nothing. An awful, horrible and despicable event, but not totally unjust.

    • You realize the people you are talking about live under fear that we can not imagine right? The people planting these bombs would slaughter their families in a second if they turned them in. Most of them won't risk having their families slaughtered to report a bomb.

Also, while we like to think of ourselves as the "good guys", over there we are the invading force that invaded their country and overthrew their government without provocation. If the Iraq military invaded and overthrew the US and my fellow US citizen was planting a bomb to fight back, I don't think I would be real quick to turn them in especially if I thought they would hurt me or my family. I am not going to put the saftey of my family ahead of tbe safety of the soldiers of an invaiding force.

One of the most celebrated events in our nation's history, the Boston tea party, was an act of terrorism. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, and it is easy to ignore that distinction when you country is the one invading others, and not the one being invaded.

    • Justice...even though at least some* of those victims had no idea what was going on?

*Note my use of the word "at least some" and not all.
