Just like a few people have mentioned, people have different definitions of success. Society wants you to think that having a high end job, being famous and having a lot of money is the only way of being successful but it most certainly isn't the only way. Success should be defined by the person so if someone's idea of success is simply learning an instrument, getting a particular job, doing some sort of self improvement, then they are successful. A lot of people are perfectly fine not being in the spotlight and enjoy quiet peaceful days while still helping out where they can.
I even remember someone saying "IIN I want to be a janitor?" People said "You can do better than that", "Don't settle for less", but if his desire was to be a janitor, he too would be successful by his own definition.
Is it normal that only 5% of the people are successful?
