Is it normal that my tears make my eyes burn?

I don't cry often, but whenever I do my eyes burn like crazy! Whether it be actual crying or something like yawning, I have to wipe my tears right away or the stinging won't go away. It doesn't happen with water or anything else, just my tears. Is that normal? What could be causing this?

  • You need to tell your eye doc. Doesn't sound normal.

  • There was this girl who was riding in a school bus with her friends when the bus all of a sudden crashed into a hazmat truck. All of the kids were tested for radiation, including her and supposedly they were all negative. But about a week or so later, I forgot what she said caused her to start tearing up, but her tears started burning her eyes and cheeks to the point where her cheeks had major rashes. So who knows.

      • That's odd.
Maybe it's not so much that they burn your eyes, but that they are hotter than the temperature you're currently used to....?
        Solution: Stop crying O_O
