If there's no outside examination or review of his grades, good grade make him look good and stops him from getting hassled by whiny pupils who think they should have done better.

As Morrow says, he's not really doing his pupils any favors.

All good answers and probably true given the rate of illiteracy in today's high school grads. I have seen some high school grads that can barely write or do simple math. They'll be fucked when they go to college.

He wants to move you on and get rid of you, plain and simple. If your higher grades make him look good, so much the better, but mostly..He just wants you out.

My hot older sister was a teacher, and, while very upstanding and made her students work until they didn't fail, did have a few she admitted to "pushing along" b/c didn't want them back. With good reason, though. When they moved her to high school for a few years, she was the textbook "Hot Teacher" all the boys were after. Handleable, but there were a few who stalked her, would tell her what they wanted to do to her body, in graphic detail, etc. One was a senior, and really, heavily after her. Even had her against a locker one day after-hours and kissed her.

She did go to the administration, and, the cops talked to him. No charges filed, as she didn't want to drag it on. When end of year, grading time came, she admitted "I'm passing him. He's not coming back again. To what, rape me next time?". Kid wasn't heard from after graduation. My guess is, other teachers didn't want him back, either. That was really the only time she pushed a student through when he really had piss-poor grades. Just wanted him out.

She also moved back to teaching grade school instead of high school. Had enough.

Having a class full of students with good grades is good for the teacher. He's out for himself, he's a shit teacher.

And yes he does hate you. If a teacher cares about you they'll fail you and make you work harder. This teacher is setting you up for even worse failure down the road.

I'm gonna say this is not normal, because if it is, then there is no future.
