Is it normal that my right thumb is slightly disifgured?

My right thumb is a little fatter than my left, and the nail is a lot wider and shorter. It's been like this since 4th grade, when I seriously jacked up my thumb knuckle and tore a tendon. I just want to know if other people think it is weird or if they just don't really care. Please remember that it is like this because I hurt my thumb, and not because I was born like that. I'll upload pictures.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • It's not normal in so much as most people haven't had disfiguring injuries to their thumbs.

It's normal that your thumb is disfigured after it was seriously injured, however.

  • People probably don't care. I was born with bent pinkies, people notice but it doesn't bother anyone.

  • I'd bet dollars to donuts most people aren't observant enough or interested enough to notice.
Most people are so self absorbed that they can't remember a stranger's name for 5 minutes, so why would they notice your thumbs, if you don't bring them to their attention.

  • When I was in my early twenties I had a boyfriend whose thumbs didn't match either but I honestly never thought to ask why.
