I don't remember getting 'the talk' as such. I think I first found out about things when my older brother had sex ed at school and brought home some hand-outs he'd been given and talked about with our parents. I do remember excitedly passing all this newly-acquired knowledge on to my best friend. She thought it was absolutely disgusting and that I was making it up. So I asked her to ask her parents about it, which she did and they denied everything!!!
My mom once told me that that all her mother had done in this regard, was to leave a dirty magazine on her bedside table. It looks like times haven't changed much, then.
Is it normal that my parents never told me about puberty?
