You can have brown eyes children from blue eyed parents. Blue eyes are actually be from two types of genes both effecting whether or not you have pigment in your eye (as blue is lack of most pigment) now your parents while them both having blue eyes could have non dominant brown eye genes that have affected your own eyes. It's somewhat rare but its documentated.

The chances of it being a randomized genetic mutation are extremely slim.
Its not that rare, blue eyes are a recessive gene

I havent taken a biology course in four years. I knew It could happen but i couldn't pin down the rarity.

Same I had to look it up, but figured it must be pretty common since it happened in both sides of my family
