  • So it's been a year I'm back to check the thread. Still no updates on what it is. It's such a small amount of us it seems, but still enough that it can't just be a coincidence. I wish we could have a study done on this. Maybe a doctor will find it one day and do one. Anyways hope you are all doing well!

    • Hello, I've been dealing with this issue too. It's very strange and coincidental to me that I have also been checking this thread and on Google about this issue in general at least once a year - it's just such a curious thing. For me, it's my left hand and sometimes my right. It's very similar to what you described. It only happens when I feel an intense sadness, like something has broken my heart, and it only really comes around after I've been hurt deeply by someone I care about. It feels like an aching. I suffer from very severe depression and it happens most of the times when I have suicidal thoughts, too. I can't recall this happening in my very early childhood but from probably around the age of 9 or 10 (when I began to feel depressed) I've suffered from the "hand ache", usually accompanied by crying. Nobody else I've spoken to knows what I'm talking about, so I feel a sense of solidarity whenever I look at threads like these. I really wonder if there's a certain quality we all have which tethers us together through this specific quirk we all experience. I'm only 20, but when I feel the pain that rattles my brain, stabs my heart and aches my hand I feel so old and tired.

      • Okay so I couldn't believe what I was reading right now. What you explained is the same for me, I'm 24 right now. The part about suicidal thoughts is exactly what triggers my palm pain most of the times. It's usually at home, never happened at a public. It's usually those dark dark nights full of sorrow.

      • This happens to me too, and I’m still searching for concrete answers. No one I know relates to this & sometimes it concerns me. It’s relieving to know I’m not the only one. I’m 23 and it’s been happening for as long as I can remember, only when I’m feeling intense sadness or my feelings get badly hurt. It’s my left hand under my thumb on the crease if that makes sense. This is the latest comment I could find so thought I’d say something since some of the others are so old
