Is it normal that my palm hurts when my feeling get hurt?

I am so glad to know I am not crazy pants! Trying to explain to someone the extent to which you were hurt by saying "it made my hand throb" means nothing to most people.

Without fail, my hand throbs when my heart "hurts" -like that heart pang/hurt feelings kind of moment. I don't know how else to explain it. I've always figured there had to be a biological explanation for it and that I couldn't be making this up in my mind. I finally decided to google it, and alas, I know I'm not alone!
