Is it normal that my own pain eases when i see others in pain?

I am in constant pain for half a year. I find that when I watched videos of other people in pain, I kind of felt better (at least for that few seconds when I was watching the video.

All the blood and the pain in their face makes me feel better.

Is it normal?

i've been in constant chronic pain for 25 years. while i have not, personally, found any relief from seeing others in pain, many of the people i've been in support groups [for pain] have - in general, the consensus seems to be "proof that we aren't alone, someone else feels what we feel".

    if that helps.
