Is it normal that my new tattoo is cracking?

I got a new tattoo on my left arm(inside) on Saturday morning and i really like it.It is now tuesday and it is my first tattoo and i dont know if this is normal for the healing process but my tattoo looks like it is cracking like if it was streched out from being flexed. The artist said to apply the healing ointment 3 times a day and to not let it get dry and thats what i have been doing is something wrong? (I use Aquaphor). However i have read online that it is good for it to get dry so the scab falls off? I have been wearing light sweaters to protect it from the sun. Also i notice its not as dark as when i first got it it seems rather grey then black. Please help i dont know if im worrying over nothing .Can someone tell me if this is normal from experience? If this is not suppose to happen what can i do to prevent it from peeling or cracking anymore? also it seems as if one of the letters ink is raised above the skin is that normal to?Thanks in advance

And tattoos do exactly what for ones appearance..? One leads to two - two leads to four and before you know it, you look like a walking bilboard.
Plus if you get into any sort of legal sdituation (s) tattoos are a proof positive id ing factor..
Must be a wonderful feeling indeed to have som a-hole ruin your skin by sticking a needle (s) into it with colored inks..

And high heels do exactly what for ones appearance..? One pair leads to two - two pairs lead to four and before you know it, you look like you're having trouble walking.
Plus if you get into any sort of legal sdituation (s) high heels make it difficult to run from the law..

must be a wonderful feeling to be hated by others. only because you choose to be a complete asshole to others for their own decisions. like you're so damn perfect. I don't get into legal matters. but you obviously would know what its like to get involved with such things. but yet here you are talking down to others..

I'm pretty sure no one asked you on your opinion of tattoos. Way to be ignorant.

if you don't like using aquaphor, try aveeno lotion. that's what i used. make sure to keep your tattoo moist with whatever lotion you use.

It's normal, just don't pick the scabs off, let it heal naturally and put plenty of cream on. If you're still worried just pop back to your tattooist and ask them to check it out

Yeah, it all sounds normal. Just keep applying the Aquaphor and protecting it. Also, washing it with mild soap and water maybe twice a day, towel blotting, and reapplying the ointment will keep the tat clean.
Think of it as a big wound, because that's basically what it is for a few days. Except it looks a lot better..in most cases.

Normal. When it's healed the colour will go back to normal. It's the dead skin on top that makes the colour look faded, surprised the tattooist didn't explain this tho...

Most tattoo shops don't mind if you come back if you are concerned, call them. It does take a couple of weeks to heal though, it's like a big raspberry scrape; it'll scab then heal.
