Is it normal that my mother is so hateful?

I do love her very much but sometimes it gets hard. At the slightest provocation, I swear only the tiniest thing, she freaks out. Her immediate reaction is try try and say the meanest thing she can think of. I think - I hope - that when I am a parent I am a little more considerate towards my kids' feelings. The things she says really hurt a lot and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth. It all seems disproportionate to what made her mad. She will yell about me being a dykey bitch with no friends (all of it untrue). This is stuff I would never say to anyone and she doesn't even apologise after, just moves on and pretends nothing happens when I am so hurt by all of it. is it normal behaviour in a mom?

  • My mom is vicious and doesn't care who she hurts. She is extremely hateful but my gran always excused her by saying that the menapause was very hard on her.

Maybe you should just ask your menapausal bitch to go to the doctor and get some treatment.

  • Me & my mum have quite a good relationship now and its because i sat wrote her a really long letter before i stayed with my dad for 2 weeks. it said about how i felt and how i hoped she wouldnt get to upset. i included at the end that i didnt want her to mention the letter at all when i got home. she now trusts me ,ore and evrything is going fine. maybe you can do the same?? :)

  • My mom is the EXACT same way.
She flips shittt on me, and then moves on like it's nothing.

You need to just get away from her for a little while every single day, and do something nice for her.

She will appreciate it and a lot of your differences will come together if you both put a step forward. Someone just has to initiate the walk. (:

  • My mom's flipped out a few times before. But she realizes it and apologizes after.

I think you can confront her about it.

  • your mother needs some "quiet" time, leave her alone, she wont like it but it might make her think
