Is it normal that my mother is forcing me to move?

My family has built a house outside the city, but we still keep the old apartment downtown.

Sometimes I like to stay at the apartment if I am out late since I don't have a car and it's a difficult journey to the house with the bus.

However, my mother now is forcing me to go to the house everyday, saying that "our home is now there".

That means an extra hour on the road for me just because.

Do you think it is normal for her to do that?
I am a 22 years old female.

Of course it's normal. Unless you buy or rent the apartment, it's not yours to crash at for convenience.

Just because she's staying there to save the trip and misses her old home doesn't mean she is trashing it...why does she have to trash it if she's staying there?
So long as you're cleaning up after yourself it shouldn't be a problem. You're mom is probably feeling insecure about the move and if you stay at the new house it will validate her decision. She might feel guilty about it too
