Even though you are grateful, maybe she wants to make sure that you are very grateful because she obviously didn't grow-up in a rich family. I don't know how to explain this but, it could be that she doesn't want you to take what you have for granted. I don't know how she lived before she got married to your father but, maybe she has come so far by marrying him, therefore not wanting you to be someone who isn't thankful for the good life which you have, compared to the life which she lived before marriage.
Why don't you ask her? There could be something else there that you don't know about. There might be a very obvious reason to why she treats you that way.
