This is normal depending on your age. My parents were the same way. when i was in like 6th grade my friend got a Palm Pilot, and i thought it was really cool. and i had $250 so i was like, i want a Palm Pilot, but at first my parents wouldn't let me get it, saying it was a waste of money and I didn't need it. But i convinced them to let me use MY money how I please, and they let me make my own mistake, i bought the PDA, and it was the biggest waste of money of my life, and i wished i had listened to my parents, but I did learn a valuable lesson, and it's stuff like that that parents need to let their children make their own mistakes instead of sheltering them their entire life.
