      You are aware of the fact that parents aren't ideal people. My mum used my money on several occasions to but ME stuff that I didn't want, nor had a use for, just so that she could use them.

      All in all my parents and I are proponents for the approach of learning through mistakes. I had my money ( birthday, Xmas, allowance, clothes money, lunch money etc.) and was allowed to spend it anyway I wished. It was a given that if I bought garbage I'd regret it and learn from the experience.

        This is different dude. His mother is teaching the same thing here but in a different way. This way of learning from mistakes may be good for you or a few other people but may be his mother knows he won't learn that way. The way he chose his wrods her tells me that this guy has issues
