I understand that English may or may not be your second language but the use of the word "maths" in place of "math" in this post kind of just pissed me the fuck off.
Why get pissed over that? In some countries (e.g. Britain, Australia, most other countries where English is a second language), 'maths' is the normal spelling and pronunciation. 'Math' is only preferred in the US and Canada.
I am not OP, but clearly maths is short for mathematics, plural. You study each mathematic (there is a bunch of them to learn) when you take a class on mathematics.
Math and maths both mean mathematics, they are both correct, and the only difference between the two is regional prefrence. The original term was math, which has its origin in the mid 1800's. Maths is an alternative form of math created the early 1900's. But both are currently valid and interchangeable.
