It's completely normal for acid to give you a life-changing experience - a 'revelation' if you will. However, most of them tend to be positive and your trip seemed to be very distressing for you. It is very easy to overdose on acid, therefore giving you a bad trip. Perhaps this is what happened.
Also, your state of mind and surroundings play a huge part in the kind of trip you will have. If you are relaxed and open to the experience you are more likely to have a good time compared to someone who is in an unfamiliar place and anxious about it.
It's not an overdose it's simply a bad trip due to the fact that his friends dragged him to the car and left him in the middle of some sidewalk. He should have stayed where he was comfortable til the acid wore off.
