Is it normal that my left arm is more toned;muscular than my right arm

my right arm is less toned but stronger and alittle bit more fat. i guess its stronger because i'm right handed but i do push ups and i box(orthodox not southpaw) and i used to lift weights but dont anymore. and i work both my arms and my pecs and everything else but i noticed my right arm is alittle more fat than my left arm and just alittle more skinnier too. idk why though.i can flex my left arm which is alittle bit weaker and i can obviously see my triceps and biceps and shoulder muscles. but when flexing my right arm its chubby and my triceps on it is smaller. IS THAT NORMAL?

Is It Normal?

  • i have that happening also but for the opposite arm, it's quite visible even when i'm wearing a shirt, the left shoulder looks normal, small to average muscle, not much definition, but on the right arm you can see the 3 deltoid muscles clearly cut and with good mass

when i lift weights, i do the same number of reps for both arms... but i guess i have a habit of using my right arm more during daily activities (sports, lifting stuff, etc) so it gets more of a workout without my meaning it to

  • if you get back on the weight lifting they will even out, better to train them the same

Roger Federa is the same, it's no big deal unless your a bodybuilder who needs symmetry on both sides.

  • you know what i suffer from this too
my left shoulder is a bit bigger than my right but my right bicep is bigger than my left also my brochiodalis and brociolis on my right arm are bigger aswell as my tricep
im right handed and train in bodybuilding
i think it comes down to over use and over training after the gym so whilst doing normal things around the house

  • I'm going through the same thing too and it's quite frustrating. I played badminton for nine years competitively for my university and high school and I am also a bowler for my cricket team. For these two sports, I use my right arm a lot more than my left. When I walk around my flat topless, my friend commented that my right shoulder, arm and back are just bigger and more muscular than my left. I then looked at the mirror (appropriately angled) and then I realised what the imbalance looked like and was totally embarassed by it. I didn't want my friends thinking that this is because of... something else.

  • hehe, makes you wonder what youre using that arm for :P
Nah but on a more serious note, like solimorphic said, you might be working one arm harder than the other or have in the past.

  • It is normal for arms and legs to be different when you don't train.

I use free weights with the same weight and reps on each so they both will "even out" over time. Don't work one harder than the other.

Find a good bodybuilding site, there are several.
