Is it normal that my jaw clicks

When opening and closing my mouth the right side of my jaw (were the joint is) clicks. I think I somehow misalign the jaw joint while asleep on the pillow. The effect used to go away after few hours but now it is more persistent. I feel no pain but it is sufficiently loud to be heard by my mother.

Is this common and is this problem permanent?

  • Happens to me a lot. At first it used to scare me because I didn't know what was going on with my jaw but as long as it doesn't hurt or cause you a problem, don't worry too much about it.

But of course if you are worried, go and talk to a doctor etc.

    :)

Mine clicks too. My oral surgen said it's part TMJ and partly to do with my jaw being missaligned.

I have that too! I thought it was because of my excessive gum chewing, and it probably is. Tmj... It doesn't hurt so lol I think were good.

I have it too, it's called TMJ. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can hardly open my mouth.
